Finding support after loss: grief counselling for adults

Experiencing the loss of a loved one can feel overwhelming, and it may help to talk things through with someone supportive and understanding. Grief affects people in many different ways: you may be feeling numb, anxious, low in mood, or finding it hard to adjust to life after a loss. You might be coping with a recent bereavement, an anticipated loss, or a loss that happened years ago but still feels unresolved. Sometimes there are no clear words for how you feel; just a quiet sense that something has changed, or that you are carrying your grief on your own.

At RLA Counselling, I provide private and confidential grief counselling in a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your emotions at your own pace, without judgement. Together, we can gently make sense of your experience, develop ways of coping, and support you as you find your way forward after loss.

Call me now on 07752 893213 for a free, initial conversation. You don't have to grieve alone.

I am a warm and grounded counsellor specialising in bereavement and loss. Rather than giving advice or trying to ‘fix’ grief, I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and honestly, knowing you will be listened to with care and respect. Alongside bereavement work, I also support clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, or difficulties within family life, relationships, or work.

My approach is open, human, and genuine, with a strong focus on building a trusting and collaborative relationship. I believe this sense of safety and connection is key to helping you feel understood and supported, and to creating space for reflection and change.

I volunteer as a counsellor at The Shakespeare Hospice and have also supported clients through Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire. These experiences have shaped the compassionate and empathetic way I work with people.

I draw on a range of counselling approaches and adapt the way I work to suit you as an individual, taking time to understand what feels most helpful for you.

I work within the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical framework, which means I follow high professional standards, including confidentiality, clear boundaries, and a commitment to safe, respectful, client-centred practice.
